ASSIGNMENT
Our Merkur experts, in collaboration with Cambli, conducted a workshop to define the development strategy.
Specifically, a preliminary analysis of the vehicle to be designed was performed to identify the different systems to be developed, the technological challenges and the expertise required. Then, the team evaluated the workload and defined the best project plan to design the product in six months. Following this, Merkur selected a six-person team from among their experts to complete Cambli’s team. The specialized and multidisciplinary technical team of a dozen people was ready to complete the project within the set timeframe.

RESULTS
Presentation of a functional prototype in a short time frame to develop a new market
OBJECTIVE AND ACHIEVEMENT
Cambli’s Thunder 2 is an armored, tactical, all-terrain vehicle with a security-conscious design.
Cambli’s Thunder 2 is an armored, tactical, all-terrain vehicle with a security-conscious design.
To speed up engineering, we split the product into different systems. Merkur was mainly involved in the powertrain, the structure, the interior layout and the equipment and ventilation.
For each of these elements, we defined the technical requirements, carried out a technology watch, sized and selected the main components, carried out the 3D design and ensured the integration with other systems. Furthermore, we were involved in the search for suppliers and then, we realized the drawings and documents necessary for the manufacturing.
Our experts have made sure to meet the various manufacturing constraints by optimizing the choice of manufacturing processes and standardizing the components and materials.
TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES
Contribution to the design of the new "THUNDER 2" vehicle in six months
Development and validation of concepts for the different systems
Identification of major components and suppliers
Preparation of drawings and documents necessary for the fabrication of the prototype
The collaboration between Cambli and Merkur’s vehicle development expertise quickly doubled engineering capacity for a strategic, one-time project. This autonomous, transparent, and efficient project management allowed our client to focus on other priorities.

DISCOVER OUR PROJECTS
Support for pontoon boat design and manufacturing
Manufacturing
Our customer needed to design and manufacture a pontoon boat for a sister company in the U.S. on their own premises, while retaining the company’s DNA. Our customer lacked engineering and project management capabilities.

Accelerating the Production Launch of a Oneka Desalination Buoy
Marine
Oneka Technologies is a startup dedicated to transforming the oceans into a sustainable and affordable source of fresh water. Oneka sought to integrate several supply chain and product development experts into its team to help plan manufacturing through its supplier network and bring the buoy into production.

Optimization of Bus Handling Equipment
Transportation
One of our customers, a manufacturer of passenger buses and motor homes, decided to replace the ferries in its passenger bus assembly plant.
